About the Award

Celebrating leadership across the IFTA community

The Richard L. Reeves Leadership Award is presented to an individual who has distinguished herself or himself by outstanding contributions and involvement within the IFTA Community.

The award recognizes effective leadership and outstanding accomplishments and contributions within the nominee’s jurisdiction or within the IFTA community.

Award Criteria

Who may be nominated

An employee or retiree of an IFTA member jurisdiction or an industry member may be nominated. The Selection Committee evaluates each nomination based on demonstrated merit.

  • Current or former service as an IFTA jurisdictional or industry member.
  • Outstanding contributions to the IFTA community.
  • Leadership within a jurisdiction, company, or the IFTA community.
  • Development of creative and proactive programs.
Distinguished Service

The Reeves standard of leadership

This award is given for distinguished service to an individual who has demonstrated those qualities that most exemplify the standards of leadership established by Rick Reeves during his 25 years of commitment to the Transportation Industry.

  • Presenting at an IFTA workshop, section meeting, or Annual Business Meeting.
  • Serving on an IFTA Steering or Special Committee.
  • Supporting fairness in IFTA administration.
  • Mentoring new members and actively advancing IFTA's principles.
  • Actively participated in support of the concepts embodied by IFTA.
